Privacy policy
The short version: if you use Wardo for free, your wardrobe stays on your phone. If you turn on Pro, it syncs to our cloud so you can share, use AI features and use Wardo on the web. Turn Pro off and we delete the cloud copy. We don't sell your data.
Who we are
Wardo is run by [CHECK: exact legal name and legal form — believed to be "Wardo Circular Fashion", India], registered at [CHECK: registered address]. In this policy, "Wardo", "we" and "us" mean that business.
Questions or requests: [CHECK: contact email].
The website and the waitlist
What we collect
- Your email address.
- Your city, if you choose to give it.
- Whether you joined as someone with a wardrobe or as a darzi or maker.
- The date and time you joined.
Why
To tell you when the Wardo beta opens and about Wardo's launch. If you joined as a darzi or maker, also to contact you about bringing your work to Wardo. We use your city only to plan where to start. [CHECK: confirm these are the only uses]
Where it is kept and for how long
The waitlist is stored in a database run by Cloudflare, which also hosts this website. We keep your entry until the beta has opened and you have been invited, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first [CHECK: confirm retention period].
What the website does not do
No cookies, no analytics and no advertising trackers. Two outside services see basic technical details when you visit: Cloudflare, which serves the site and protects it from abuse, and Google Fonts, which supplies the typefaces. Both receive your IP address and browser details as part of delivering the page.
The Wardo iPhone app
Free: your wardrobe stays on your phone
On the free tier your wardrobe lives on your phone. If you use iCloud, your phone backs it up to your own iCloud account with Apple. We cannot see that backup.
Pro: your wardrobe syncs to our cloud
If you turn on Pro, your wardrobe is uploaded to our cloud database, run by Supabase, so you can share with friends, use AI features and use Wardo on the web. If you turn Pro off, we delete the cloud copy. [CHECK: how long deletion takes, and how long backups of the cloud copy are kept]
The photo scan and "Is this you?"
To build your wardrobe from your photos, the app can look through the photos you allow it to access. To find the photos of you, it may ask "Is this you?" using your own selfies. That face data stays on your phone. It is kept there so later scans don't need to ask again, and it is deleted when you delete the app. We never upload it.
AI tagging
To tag your clothes (for example, what kind of garment it is), the app sends garment photos to an AI provider, Anthropic, through its API. Anthropic processes the photo to return the tags. [CHECK: whether AI tagging is Pro-only; what Anthropic's API terms say about keeping or training on these photos]
Your account
[CHECK: what account details the app collects — e.g. Sign in with Apple, name, email — and whether a free user needs an account at all]
Who we share data with
We use these services to run Wardo. Each one handles data only to provide its service to us:
- Cloudflare — hosts this website and stores the waitlist.
- Google Fonts — supplies the website's typefaces.
- Apple iCloud — backs up a free wardrobe to your own iCloud account, under your agreement with Apple.
- Supabase — stores Pro wardrobes in the cloud.
- Anthropic — tags garment photos for AI tagging.
We don't sell your data or share it for advertising. We may disclose data if the law requires it.
Some of these providers may store or process data outside India [CHECK: storage regions for Cloudflare, Supabase and Anthropic].
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to tell you what data we hold about you, correct it, or erase it, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing consent stops future use; it doesn't undo what was done before. You can also nominate someone to exercise these rights for you.
To use any of these rights, write to [CHECK: contact email]. Our grievance officer is [CHECK: DPDP Act 2023 grievance officer — name and contact]. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
[CHECK: minimum age for the app and the waitlist, and how consent from a parent or guardian is handled for anyone under 18]
Security
We use the security tools our providers offer, keep Pro wardrobes private to your account, and limit who on our side can reach your data [CHECK: confirm these security measures]. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
